SOUTH SOUND
Tacoma,
Washington
WELCOME
Thank you for visiting the South Sound Youth Board site! Our board is comprised of 14 youth from 8 different high-schools
throughout Pierce County, Washington. Through our grant-making program we support organizations that serve at-risk
youth in the South Puget Sound region of Washington State.
Our board first convened in September 2005 and was the founding youth board for the foundation.
This board, made up of a diverse group of students from local area high schools, was charged with
the task of establishing the foundation's constitution, grant guidelines and by-laws. Since that
time we have provided funding to many local area organizations and have made a positive change in
the South Puget Sound community.
YOUTH GRANTMAKING
Each year, our youth
board evaluates numerous grant applications and awards grant money to deserving programs
in our local community. If you are a member of a 501 (c) 3
